Turn a School Hall to Mini Concert Space

We all remember the primary school halls of our youth; hard seats and harder to hear. Quest Engineering's school hall audio package brings clarity to speech and is not hard on the school treasury.

Welcome to St. Anne's Catholic Primary School, in the bayside suburb of Seaford in Melbourne, Victoria. Normally this type of building is not conducive to clear sound once you pass the "critical distance" where the reverberant field matched the output from the PA system. After this point, sound level may still be high but vocal clarity is lost due to the room reflections.

The Quest solution is based around the Quest designed asymmetrical HF horn. With this device, sound from the top of the flare is beamed in a narrow arc to the back of the room while the wide dispersion at the bottom of the flare gives a smooth coverage over a wide area. Thus, reflections from the walls and roof are minimized.

The horn flare can be rotated for horizontal installation and the versatile rigging brackets allow for a variety of installation configurations.

In this St Annes installation, the primary FOH pair of speaker boxes is augmented by a pair of QS150 8" speakers.

The result is a very robust and sonically uncompromising result that will last for years.
