Hot Cars and a Cool Sound System

The city of Bathurst in Australia is world famous for a 1,000Km endurance car race on a tough mountain street race track.  The track is open to the public for most of the year and attracts many visitors. Thousands of people flock to the race every year but the race is not the only attraction at Bathurst. Before and after the race, the Oxford Hotel Bathurst is the “go to” venue for all things entertainment.

The Oxford Hotel Bathurst

The lavishly renovated hotel complex features many bars, a nightclub, outdoor entertainment area and a fine dining restaurant. The audio throughout the complex is provided by Quest Engineering.

The outdoor areas are covered by Quest M Series 801 all weather speakers and inside the venue are the Quest QS150 series speakers in a low impedance distributed system. Where full range sound is required the system is augmented with the M210S triple band-pass sub bass.

The large number of speaker boxes throughout the venue assures the patrons of uniform and consistent sound from the multi zone system which can deliver quite high SPL when necessary.

The sonic quality and power handling of the MS 801 speakers makes them ideal for the wide variety of program material the outdoor areas need to reproduce. The main beer garden system is often augmented with a DJ system that is also patched in to the distributed MS boxes.

The venue has been a work in progress for some time. The Nightclub system installed ten years ago has been reliably functioning with a Quest manufactured sound system and each subsequent addition has seen more Quest systems added to the venue.

All installation and maintenance has been competently carried out by local company Myles Duggan Audio.
