New HPI System Raises the Roof for Thirty Churches

The recent release of the new Quest HPI sub bass systems is the finishing touch to get the new HPI 110 systems to their full potential.

In Melbourne Australia, a recent convention of 30 churches was the first outing for the new system. Tim Oliver from Streamstone audio (Sydney) was the audio production manager for this event and three days of Christian rock bands was a great opportunity to see the complete satellite/sub bass system's capability.

The venue was a 300 + people function room set up for live music, conference and a lively worship program. The Quest sound system consisted of 4 x HPI-110 high powered satellite speakers, 4 x new release 4 x HPI-212S sub bass and 2 x HPI-18LP band-pass sub bass. Monitors were augmented by QM450a powered multi-purpose fold-back monitors.

Tim Oliver commented, "for a PA system that is quite physically small and light, the power and clarity from the system is very impressive". He added, "The vocal projection from the HPI-110 boxes is quite amazing and I received numerous comments about the sound, which was probably related to the fact that everyone could clearly understand the vocals".

Tim's background is concert sound so he knows a thing or two about the logistics and complexities and of getting quick results from a mobile system.

He also knows a thing or two about difficult acoustic environments adding, "Under normal circumstances, this venue would require additional delay speakers due to the low roof. With the asymmetrical HPI110 dispersion, delays were unnecessary as the vocal image clearly beamed to the back of the room".

Test versions of the new sub bass systems have been recently appearing around some Australian venues, though they were officially at the Frankfurt Pro Light and Sound Exhibition in Germany late in March.
