Unidentified Flying PA at Flying Saucer Club is Identified

In a quiet street there is a not so quiet venue. The Flying Saucer Club is a great place for tasteful live music and a venue that features quality live performance for a musically mature crowd.

The venue has had a number of recent upgrades. Last year the venue purchased five QM450a powered speakers for a stage monitor system and this has been so successful, when it came time to replace the main PA, the company purchased more to run as the front of house. The idea of having the same speaker system as both FOH and monitors is not possible with most speaker systems. With the dual functionality if the QM450a the concept works really well.

Over time the QM450a has made a lot of friends as a powered monitor for its many benefits, including the rotatable asymmetrical Mid-HF horn and its extreme reliability under tough conditions. But it also makes a great front of house system.

The Flying Saucer Club is not a large venue but considering the types of acts the venue stages, high quality audio is essential. The Four QM450a boxes in the front of house are augmented by powered Quest QM600ASi sub bass. The Asymmetrical projection of the QM450a means there are no “hot spots” in front of the PA making it relatively easy to get a uniform mix around the room.

Overall a great result for the venue and the performers, not to mention the sound guys.
